Susana Escalante, MA, draws upon 20 years of experience as a Senior Human Resources Manager with emphasis in strategic diversity initiatives, diversity education, workplace harassment, and employee relations. Susana was formerly employed as Corporate Manager of Diversity for Seagate Technology (38,000 employees), and as Corporate Director of Diversity at Storage Technology (7,000 employees). Both companies are worldwide technology leaders in personal data storage systems. In her previous role at Seagate, Susana worked with the CEO and Corporate Officers to implement the company's Diversity Strategy, leading a VP level Diversity Team and seven US Councils.

At StorageTek, Susana's responsibilities included overseeing the company's worldwide Diversity Strategy and implementation including:

• Leading the Corporate Executive Diversity Council
• Managing the Affirmative Action Program (13 US Plans), which included responding to any OFCCP audits and overseeing sexual and workplace harassment investigations
• Designing and implementing the companies Diversity Education Program

Both Seagate and StorageTek have won awards during her tenure. Seagate was named one of the top 50 companies for Diversity in the US (2001 and 2002), DiversityInc Publication.

Prior to these roles, Susana worked as Regional Diversity Coordinator at Hewlett-Packard in Fort Collins, Colorado. She also worked for the City of Boulder, Colorado for more than 10 years as Affirmative Action and Diversity Officer. In addition to duties that were similar to those described above, she was responsible for staffing and employee relations including mediation and conflict resolution and supported Police and Fire selection and promotional processes.

Susana has been a consultant and trainer for more than 20 years, specializing in HR topics such as:

• Development of diversity programs and initiatives
• Executive and Manager, Diversity Coaching
• Diversity education topics, e.g. diversity at work, gender, disability, generational etc.
• Workplace and sexual harassment, Affirmative Action, EO, diversity recruitment, complaint investigations
• Workplace communication and conflict resolution

Susana's clients have included: AT&T; Lucent Technologies; Hughes Corporation; SCC Corporation (Intrado); USDA-Forest Service; U.S. Department of Commerce; Bureau of Land Management; National Park Service; NIST; numerous cities, counties and municipalities, e.g. City of Denver (including the City of Denver Fire Department and Denver Water Department), Boulder, Fort Collins, Longmont, Montrose, and Thornton, Colorado; federal agencies such as the Bureau of Reclamation and United States Environmental Protection Agency; and Kindred Atlanta Hospital.
