Susana Escalante, MA, draws upon 20 years of experience as a Senior Human Resources Manager with emphasis in strategic diversity initiatives, diversity education, workplace harassment, and employee relations. Susana currently serves as the Corporate Diversity Manager at Network Centric Systems in Dallas, Texas. Her former positions were Corporate Diversity Manager for Seagate Technology (38,000 employees) and Corporate Diversity Manager at Storage Technology (8,000 employees). StorageTek was purchased by SUN Microsystems.
Both companies are worldwide technology leaders in personal data storage systems. In her role at Seagate, Susana helped drive the US-wide diversity/inclusion strategy, create and oversee US diversity councils, promote diversity education, assess diversity employee index results, respond to employee relations issues, support diversity recruitment and retention, partner with key community organizations, establish program metrics/accountability, and more.
At StorageTek, Susana's responsibilities included overseeing the company's worldwide Global Diversity Strategy and implementation including:
- Leading the Corporate Executive Diversity Council
- Managing the Affirmative Action Program (13 US Plans) which included responding to any OFCCP audits and overseeing sexual and workplace harassment investigations
- Designing and implementing the company's Diversity Education Program
StorageTek received the INROADS Trailblazer Award and Seagate was named one of the top 50 companies for Diversity in the US (2001 and 2002), DiversityInc publication.
Prior to these roles, Susana worked as Regional Diversity Coordinator at Hewlett-Packard in Fort Collins, Colorado. She also worked for the City of Boulder, Colorado, for more than ten years as Affirmative Action and Diversity Officer. In addition to duties that were similar to those described above, she was responsible for assisting with staffing and employee relations including mediation and conflict resolution and supported Police and Fire selection and promotional processes.
Susana has been a consultant and trainer for more than 20 years, specializing in HR topics such as:

- Diversity education topics; e.g., managing diversity, diversity/inclusion at work, gender communication, disability, generational differences, cross-cultural understanding, one-global village and more

Susana has won the following awards: 1997 recipient of the Boulder County award for her work in diversity and business, the Adelante Mujer State Award (1998) for community involvement and the 1999 Award presented by Career Communications (Black and Hispanic Engineer Publication) for her work in Diversity/Affirmative Action.
