Sample Projects

Organizational Alignment. Lynn assisted with the integration of structure, culture, and leadership to ensure quality service delivery and optimum organizational performance for a computer technology company. Her work included facilitating leadership to agreement on organizational strategy, assessing current culture and leadership through interviews and surveys, identifying the desired state and assessing gaps, and facilitating action planning to close gaps.
This project resulted in a revised performance appraisal system, restructuring of the leadership team, consolidating redundant services and functions, and restructuring from a functional to a matrix organization.

Restructuring. Lynn assisted in the restructuring of a medium-sized department of a larger organization to increase organizational effectiveness in the accomplishment of its mission. Lynn facilitated an organizational retreat to establish organizational purpose and direction and assisted leadership in structuring the organization to meet stated needs and direction.
Lynn's intervention resulted in a structure which minimized duplication of services, streamlined program delivery, and clarified roles and responsibilities.

Strategic Planning. Lynn conducted strategic planning sessions designed to improve organizational alignment, customer service, and partnering efforts throughout the organization. She interviewed leadership to assess current reality, examined current and past documentation, and facilitated the leadership team through a process to collectively identify and agree on current issues, establish direction and goals, and create mechanisms for goal accomplishment.
This project resulted in the expansion of one department to increase its roles and responsibilities, consolidation of functions, and improved organizational communication systems.

Leadership Development. Lynn designed and implemented a Leadership Development Program to ensure that leadership behavior was consistent with organizational values and strategies. The process involved conducting focus groups, identifying leadership competencies, surveying to establish current leadership action and behavior, and developing and delivering programs to close the gap between competencies and reality.
The outcomes included increased leadership commitment to mission, goals, and values of the organization; clarity on leadership roles and responsibilities; increased ownership of the entire organizational process, and the minimizing of "territorialism."

Establishing Aligned Leadership. Lynn assisted in aligning senior leadership and middle management in focus and purpose in a 1200 person organization, and mediated conflict at all levels. She interviewed all management, facilitated retreats with different levels of management to set priorities, focus and resolve conflict, and coordinated and facilitated meetings between levels of management to discuss and resolve issues and set common focus, direction, and implementation strategies.

Interdepartmental Merger. Lynn assessed interdepartmental mergers, identified issues, provided recommendations, conducted feedback sessions, and facilitated implementation strategy meetings. This involved conducting extensive focus groups with over a total of 100 people, conducting individual interviews, collating and documenting findings, working with leadership to understand the issues, and assisting leadership in working through the feedback and implementation process.
This project resulted in a clarification of roles, expansion of departmental responsibilities, and integration of two different organizational cultures.
