Linda Sorrento, MA, consults and mentors adults who want to live fulfilling post-retirement lives and achieve balance in life's second half. She emphasizes practical solutions to the problems of boredom, motivation, lack of direction, and self-awareness in retirement life. She explores the many dimensions of life beyond retirement, including its life-long, dream-fulfilling potential. One of her goals is to change the negative way Americans view aging and retirement.

Linda conducts training within corporations, nonprofit agencies, and private classes with the credo "designing your time, fulfilling your life" always in mind. She explores with participants how to align their goals, values, and interests with the expanding options for older individuals. She educates and explodes the myths of aging while easing the transition into the end of employment--or even the beginning of a new career. Sorrento's programs have won national recognition and have helped many people make the passage into what can be life's most rewarding phase.

Linda has been a management consultant and trainer for more than 25 years. She has extensive global experience in organizational and management development for major corporations in high technology, manufacturing, banking, oil, gas, chemicals, and environmental industries. Many of her corporate clients are Fortune 50 firms.

As President of her own organizational development and training organization for more than ten years, she conducted a major organizational transformation with an international manufacturing organization, involving production through executive levels, their customers, suppliers, and community in envisioning a collectively desired future. The program was acknowledged for significant improvements in productivity, employee job satisfaction, executive team performance, and customer/supplier relationships.

Linda designed and taught customer relations training for field and systems engineers and sales personnel of an international communications equipment organization. She provided coaching and training to hundreds of clients at all vocational and professional levels in career transition programs. One two-year contract resulted in the highest placement ratings for comparable national programs. She received a "Keep America Working" Partnership Award, the result of a collaborative effort between IBM and Front Range Community College. She was a lecturer on a cruise ship, the SS Britannis, as it rounded South America.

Linda was a Senior Consultant for Gemini Consulting, an international consulting firm, now merged with Ernst & Young, for over four years, where she developed organizational restructuring efforts for a corporate and field design and construction division of a major retailer. She delivered leadership and coaching sessions to the General Manager and direct reports for a major automotive firm, both field and corporate, the first time ever in the 80+ history of the firm. She led two client work teams for a major international oil, gas, and chemicals firm, validating, designing, and streamlining complex human resource business processes.

As a Senior Marketing Instructor and Senior Training Specialist with StorageTek, Linda provided training in leadership, management, quality improvement, sales, train-the-trainer, and presentation skills to mid-level managers, domestic and field systems engineers, and sales and marketing personnel.

Linda is presently a member of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and is Vice-President of Membership for Columbine Communicators, a Toastmasters International Club.

She has consistently been acknowledged for the high level of enthusiasm, focus, and content-rich information she brings to her workshops. A recent workshop attendee commented, "Your handouts and checklists guided even the most unimaginative of us to ponder the many elements of a successful retirement."

Regarding her passion for working with people preparing for retirement, Linda says, "Encouraging people to design an active retirement life, one that aligns their values, interests, and skills, maybe for the first time ever, not only makes their lives better, but enriches us all."
