Jim Hunt, MA, is the owner of The Write Idea, a US-based training and consulting company that specializes in effective, on-the-job communication. Founded in 1986, the organization has grown to become a local, national, and international resource for communicators in a wide variety of businesses and industries.

Jim holds a master's degree in English and has taught writing, speaking, and related communications topics to adults in the workplace for over 30 years. In addition to his experience instructing, Jim enjoys a busy career as speaker, writer, copy-editor, and creative consultant for numerous organizations in the United States and overseas. His most popular courses are Writing for Results, Getting a Grip on Grammar, When It's Your Turn To Speak: Effective Presentations, and Generations in the Workplace. With Claire Raines, he co-authored a book on the generations: The Xers & The Boomers-From Adversaries to Allies-A Diplomat's Guide (Crisp Publications, September 2000).

Jim's speaking and instructional style is dynamic yet down-to-earth. He mixes humor with a sincere respect for the content he delivers. Since 1996, he has made seven trips to the Middle East (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Jeddah, Jubayl, Yanbu, Muscat, and Cairo) and particularly enjoys presenting to professionals for whom English is a second language.
